I’ve been wanting an exposure meter for a while, and drooling over the digital ones that are around $300. Then I found this one on Ebay, and I realized I may learn more from seeing how the ISO/ASA, f number and time relate to each other under different lighting conditions. It arrived today, and my friend that waits with me for our boys to get out of school knows that I am a terrible geek now. I had to bring it along.

Both photos are there so I can show I’ve learned at least 1 thing from the Strobist.com site. (How to use things laying around to reflect or diffuse light on a subject. The humble coupon/photo folder of mostly white plastic did nicely.) Not a perfect shot on top, but I at least had a clue how to do better than the bottom shot.

Less than 12 hours and counting until my new freezer arrives. About 1 day to having fridge-freezer that doesn’t have stuff falling out every time I open it because I crammed too much in it and can find stuff again.
