Tired and ready for bed, but dress is complete. May make a shrug to go with or try to find a sweater for her. (March is chilly here.) But my first lined dress is DONE! (Not perfect - but done well enough for my first one.

Quick update (2-2 
: Showed the dress to my daughter this morning - she smiled from ear to ear and hugged it all the way to her closet. I even got a kiss for my efforts. Momma done good. 
Added lining today to bodice. Will sew up the sides tonight or tomorrow and start the skirt.
As a reward for finishing the slides for part 2 of the class that I’ll be teaching on Tuesday, I got to sit down and sew.
I’ve despirately wanted to make her an easter dress this year. There are darling dresses in the store, but they all seem sleeveless. Is this intelligent considering that Easter is in March and we often still get BLIZZARDS that time of year? NOT! I do wonder what the stores are thinking. (End of rant.)
Back to sewing… I’m using the really cute daisy fabric and yellow with small lighter flower print fabric for accent. This is my first real dress, so I’m approaching this with some trepidation and trying to warp my mind around how to sew a dress with a lining. But I think I have the sleeves figured out and pinned. Will sew them tomorrow. Hurdle 1 - over with minimal banging of head on counter. Yay!
