North Country Fiber Fair Trip
September 20, 2009
Pictures from my trip with B to North Country Fiber Fair. Fabulous day up there in Watertown!
I took a Naalbinding class and used my camera as my notes. Seriously I won’t remember this crazy Viking age preknitting technique for the Olso stitch with out them! Much fun. I want to know more about it!
Did a bit of shopping and found (no pictures yet)
- a few tidbits for the kidlets – a felted sheep coin bag, Peace Fleece felted Earth ball kit, and bamboo crochet hook from Celestial Designs. I love that much of what she sells are fair trade items.
- Alpaca roving from Rich Nes Farms – I always go get some from him
- Icelandic roving and a Spindle from SD Natural Colored Wool
- Coffee project bag from MAB Originals and Ladybug stitch markers from Spinning Doggies Designs (my friends who shared a booth)
I would have loved to stay longer – but I had to be awake to drive home. Next year I hope to stay to sell and catch more classes!
- Starting with a “pretzel” knot/loop – our lovely teacher
- Ready to start the first stitch
- The wrap around thumb before starting first stitch
- Thread the needle
- Insert in loop behind thumb, twist up and around, insert on side (outside of hand) through/under two loops/strings
- Slip top loop on thumb over and let it be new loop #1 behind thumb
- Ready to start the next stitch
- Llama in the animal barn
- Llama Mama in the animal barn
- Llama baby – Mama moved in front protectively
- Sheep – one just sheared. Nice haircut!
- The sheared fleece
