Booklist: New Moon and The First Four Years
Two weeks ago while driving to see my parents my family and I listened to The First Four Years by Laura Ingalls Wilder. I can’t say I liked it very much. It was quite a depressing book at a time I was already moody. What I got out of it was – “Farming life is hard especially in those times,” and I thought “If Almanzo brings home one more thing on credit, I’ll strangle him!”
Today I finished listening to New Moon by Stephanie Meyer. I think I enjoyed the book, but I am torn. I am so on Team Jacob it’s not even funny. He’s the only sensible one of the 3 main characters and you can’t help but like him. Edward with his moodiness drives me crazy. I know how the 4 books end. I read the summaries to see if I even wanted to keep going and even start this book. I am again unsure if I will continue the books because I hate to see Jacob being tortured. I’ll weigh making up my own ending versus continuing.
I know this was a while ago, but in the end Jacob ends up with the right person and it wasn’t anyone that I would have guessed.
