Frankenbox is down…repeat frankenbox is down…
Spinrite is valiantly trying to “fix” my harddrive right now. (Has been running for almost 13 hours. It says 7 more to go.) So I’m computing from my hubby’s computer right now.
I wanted to go back to XP, since XP pro/64 bit was driving me crazy and I had a slow weekend coming up. (XP Pro isn’t supported by many programs and my printer doesn’t even have proper drivers for it. So much for printing photos!) So there wasn’t a better time to go back, right? Well hard drive problems are making this interesting. But hopefully I can get backup and going this weekend. (PBBBPPPTT on XP Pro.) (YES, I BACKED UP. I am backup paranoid and backup multiple ways.)
In the meantime to add to the computer chaos:
- I’m trying to get an invite to iscrybe.com. (Wish me luck.) Looks like fabulous organizational software online. (My stuff is all over the net right now and I’m feeling too chaotic about it. Hard to keep track of what I need to do each day and for the camera club presidency.)
- I’m expecting my mini laptop to arrive today. But I abandoned the MSI Wind. Looks cool – but MSI is being wierd and not putting them out in any number. Stores get maybe 30 if they are lucky. I’m leary. The Asus Eee PC 1000h, came down by $100 the other day at newegg and I snatched one asap. They don’t last long in stock. But it is alteast possible to get them and they have a 6 cell battery, unlike the MSI Winds that are being shipped right now.

My husband installed the new dishwasher Wednesday night. I like it alot- but it smells wierd right now. Hopefully that will go away soon. Nice to have a dishwasher that isn’t just a sanitizer. Hopefully we’ll be able to put money back in the house fix fund so the beat up old kitchen floor can be replaced.
I kind of feel like life has been replace and buy lately. But it’s just how it’s been. o.O;

Making a bit of progress at Japanese Pod 101. Just trying to figure out how best to study. Taking a break today though and tinkering with learning to write the hiragana characters, now that I can recognize them again. Looked up how to hold a brush for Asian calligraphy and have been enjoying the serenity of just slowly trying to replicate the strokes for the characters. Nice to slow down a bit today.
